Few topics are as concerning to educators as fake news. Many of our students use the internet dozens of times a day, yet have only had a few hours of training on using the web. We know that our students need help building the skills necessary to avoid fake news articles, but teaching them those skills is no easy task. Fake news stories are often politically charged, and found on websites inappropriate for schools. The tactics fake news authors are using to spread their content is constantly evolving, making developing a method for identifying false information a difficult task.
This website is designed to help educators deal with some of the challenges of teaching this complex topic. Some of the content you'll find on this website is real, and some of it is fake, but all of it is school appropriate.
